1. Who built the Ka’bah? Where is it located?

a. The Ka’bah was built by Prophet Ibraheem and his son Ismaeel. It is located in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.

 

2. Why is the Ka’bah so special for Muslims?

a. The Ka’bah is the first house of worship built on Earth.

 

3. Why did Abraha want to destroy the Ka’bah?

a. Abraha was jealous of the Ka’bah and Makkah. He built a big church in Yemen for everyone to visit, and wanted people to love the church more than the Ka’bah. He told people to stop visiting the Ka’bah but the Arabs did not listen to him. So Abraha became mad and wanted to destroy the Ka’bah.

 

4. Who is Abdul-Muttalib? What made him tell the people of Makkah to leave?

a. Abdul-Muttalib was the leader of Makkah. He told the people of Makkah to leave for their own safety from Abraha’s army.

 

5. Why was Abdul-Muttalib not worried about the Ka’bah?

a. He had faith (IMAN) that Allah would protect the ka’bah.

 

6. What happened when Abraha told the elephant to destroy the Ka’bah?

a. Whenever the elephants were told to go to the Ka’bah, they would run away from it! They refused to destroy the Ka’bah because they were obeying Allah’s commands, not Abraha’s!

 

7. How did Allah (swt) protect the Ka’bah?

a. Allah sent a flock of birds  over Makkah. By Allah’s command, the birds were holding stones in their claws and beaks. They dropped the stones onto Abraha and his army. Abraha and his army were destroyed!

a. Haleemah was happy because Muhammad was nice, clean, friendly, and kind, even as a child.

a. Once the Ka’bah was rebuilt, the chiefs of the Quraysh started fighting over who got to put the Black Stone (Al Hajar Al Aswad) in the right corner. They all wanted the honor of placing the holy stone in the right place.

 

26. Who came up with the solution to the problem of the Black Stone?

a. The oldest chief came up with a good idea; whoever came into the courtyard first would decide who would place the Black stone in the right place.

 

27. How did the chiefs of the Quraysh choose Muhammad (saw) to solve their problem?

a. Prophet Muhammad (saw) was the first person to walk into the courtyard, so he was chosen to decide. They were happy since Muhammad was known as As-Sadiq al-Amin.

a. Muhammad placed the black stone on a cloth, and then had all the chiefs hold the cloth together to lift up the stone. Then Muhammad (saw) himself placed the stone in the right place.

a. She had great manners and a good character. When Prophet Muhammad (saw) came to work for her, she was impressed by him and wanted to marry him. So she had a friend talk to his family.

a. She saw how gentle, honest, and truthful he was.

 

32. How did they show respect for each other?

a. They helped each other out through hard times and loved each other. They respected each other. They were patient, kind, gentle with each other. They listened to each other.

a. The Prophet Muhammad and Khadeejah had 4 daughters and 2 sons.

b. Daughters: Zaynab, Ruqayyah, Ummu Kulthum, Fatimah

a. Zaid was given as a gift to Khadeejah but she gave him to Muhammad (saw) after  they got married.

a. No, the Prophet freed him and he was no longer a servant.

 

36. Did Zaid choose to live with his parents? Why?

a. Zaid chose to live with Prophet Muhammad (saw) because the Prophet loved him so much and Zaid loved the Prophet too!

 

37. What did people used to call Zaid?

a. People used to call him Zaid ibn Muhammad (Zaid, son of Muhammad) because of how much the Prophet loved Zaid.

 

38. What was Zaid’s real name?  Zaid ibn Harithah.

 

39. What did the Prophet (saw) do when his grandsons jumped on his back while he was praying?

a. He waited for them to stop playing before he got up from sujood! The Prophet loved children and was always kind and gentle with them.

 

40. How can you show your love for the Prophet (saw)?

a. Follow his manners and his Sunnah (obey Allah, pray on time, be honest, respect your parents and elders, be kind to your friends, greet others and smile at them, and help the poor and needy)
