In class, we learned about Zaid ibn Haritha. We learned about his kidnapping at a young age, and how he ended up in the Prophet (saw)’s home. We also learned that the Prophet (saw) freed Zaid once he was given to the Prophet (saw) by Khadijah (RA). In addition, we learned that because of the love of the Prophet (saw) for Zaid, many people started calling Zaid “Zaid ibn Muhammad.” Because of the good treatment he received from the Prophet (saw), Zaid decided to stay with him rather than return to his own parents. This shows us that we should love the prophet Muhammad (Saw) more than our own parents.
