We covered basic fundamentals of Salah, its method and different types of Salah. Here are some summary of items taught in class

1. Taharah: Cleanliness is half of faith, our body and clothes should be clean enough to pray salah. In order for salah to be valid we should clean our private parts with water after we are done passing urine and bowel movement. Without taharah, our prayers and worship will be invalid
2. Wudhu: Before we start the salah make wudhu to clean face, hands and feet
3. Salah Method: Make Intention to perform the salam and perform as you have been taught
4. Mandatory Salah
Fajr: 2 Rakah – Before Dawn
Dhuhr: 4 Rakah – Mid day Prayer
Asr : 4 Rakah – After noon Prayer
Maghrib – 3 Rakah – Prayer after sunset
Isha – 4 Rakah – Prayer in the night before sleep
5. Khushoo – Our prayers need to be performed with interest and concentration
6. Voluntary Prayers – Sunnah and Nafil are optional prayers that can be voluntary
8. Salatul Witr: This is a special prayer performed after Isha with 3 rakah, In the last rakah there is a special dua called Dua-e-qunoot that need to be recited either before going to ruku or after ruku
9. Salatul – Musafir(Travelling Salah): Mandatory prayers can be shorted while travelling. Fajr stays the same while Dhuhr and Asr can be shortened from 4 to 2 and combined together. Maghrib stays same 3 rakah, Isha can be shorted from 4 to 2 and combined together with Maghrib salah
