Please complete Exercise 1, 2 and 3 of Unit āCā Chapter 5 from Workbook.
Unit ā C, Chapter Six, Thikr: Easy Ibadah, Great Rewards ā Review Sheet
1. Thikr involves remembering Allah with the heart and tongue.
2. Thikr is a food for your soul. The Thikr that we do fills our soul and makes it strong. We get great reward and hasanat.
3. Subhan Allah Walhamdulillah Walailaha Illallah Wallahu Akbar – Allah loves these words the most. They are the best words after the Quran. Allah will plant a tree for us in Jannah if we say it once. This is a great kind of Zikr because it includes four statements of Thikr altogether. It includes: Tasbeeh, Alhamd, Tahleel and Takbeer.
4. Tasbeeh: we should say Subhan Allah – Glory be to Allah. For example: when I see the moon and the stars, I say Subhan Allah.
5. The Greatest Tasbeeh – Subhan Allah WaBihamdihi Subhan Allah AlAtheem. The Prophet (SAW) said these are the two words that are easy for the tongue to say but they are heavy on the scale of Allah’s reward and Allah loves them.
6. Al-Hamdulillah – praise and thanks be to Allah. It is also called Al-Hamd. We say that to thank Allah for all the gifts he gave us in this life: gifts like our body and senses, the food we eat, the house we live in. The best gift of all is Islam.
7. Tahleel: La Ilaha Illallah – there is no God but Allah. Tahleel means raising the voice when mentioning Allah. The prophet (SAW) said : the best of thikr is saying La Illaha Illallah.
8. Takbeer: Allah Akbar – it means Allah is the Greatest, Greater than every thing in the universe. We say it when we make athan, we start the prayer with it. We also say it when we are happy or when we face challenges.
9. Istighfar: Astaghfirullah – it means, O Allah forgive me. Sometimes we do things that are not right , that we dont mean. When this happens, Allah told us to ask for forgiveness. One of Allah name is Al-Ghafoor – the Forgiving.
10. Salla Allahu Alayhi Wa Sallam – it means: peace and blessings be upon him. We use this term every time we say or hear the name of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) or any other prophet. Allah (SUT) will grant you ten times HIS mercy if you say “Salla Allahu Alayhi Wa Sallam” once.
11. A’oothu Billahi MinAshaytan-irrajeem – it means: I seek protection with Allah from the cursed devil. We use this term in many ways: before we start reciting quran, when we feel angry, when shaytan whispers to us to do something wrong. If we say “A’oothu Billahi MinAshaytan-irrajeem” shaytan becomes small and weak.
12. Shaytan ties three knots behind each one’s head before sleeping, so we won’t worship Allah (SWT). Prophet (SAW) told us how to untie them: 1. When you get up, mention Allah’s name. 2. Make Wudoo. 3. Pray Fajr.
Then you will be strong and free of shaytan.
