Assalaamu alaykum,
We reviewed in class last Sunday the important fact that the pre-Islamic Arabs were not ignorant of Allah. The knew and believed that Allah was the creator of all things, that he controls all things, and that he provides for all things. This we know is the definition of Tawheed-ur-Roobibya, i.e. Tawheed of Lordship. The pre-Islamic Arabs believed in this tawheed and accepted it but yet were still not deemed Muslims. Why? Because they would still worship idols besids Allah the Most Exalted. The primary message of Islam is that there is no god worthy of worship except Allah (swt), i.e. Tawheed-ul-Loohiya, i.e. Tawheed of Worship. Not just the belief in Allah, the pre-Islamic Arabs believed this and were still not considered Muslims!!!! This is a concept that is important for the students to understand and really explains the main message of Islam.
The homework for this week is for students to discuss this topic with their parents.
Jazaakum Allahu khairan
