Today in class we covered the life of Rasulullah (SAW) as a young man/young adult. We discussed that the Prophet was under the care of his Uncle, Abu Talib, after the passing of his grandfather Abdul Muttalib. In addition, we talked about the Prophet’s first job, as a shepherd, and how many prophets were shepherds. We also learned that the prophet (saw) later helped his uncle with trading. We learned that throughout this time, Muhammad (saw) was a kind, just, truthful person even though at the time he was not yet a prophet. On one of the trading trips, they met a Christian priest who was impressed by Muhammad (saw) and recognized many of the signs of Prophethood. He advised Abu Talib to look after Muhammad (saw).
