“There is no god but Allah, Muhammad (S.A.W) is our messenger.”
It’s what makes us Muslims.
2- Salah: Daily Prayer
5 daily prayers: Fajr, Zuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha
We pray to remember Allah and be close to him.
The prayer that we HAVE to pray (mandatory) is: Fard
3- Zakah: Giving money to the poor
Must give once a year if you have more money than you spend.
Sadaqah is charity (not mandatory)- you can give it whenever you want
4- Sawm: Fasting
We fast every year in Ramadan
No eating from dawn to sunset (before Fajr to after Maghrib)
We fast to stay away from greed and selfishness
We pray Tarawee after Isha
Lailatul Qadr (Night of Power): special night during last 10 days of Ramadan. Pray a lot on this night because it is better than 1000 months.
Eid al Fitr = celebration at the end of Ramadan
5- Hajj :Pilgrimage to Makkah
We should try to do Hajj at least once in our life.
Kabah was made by: First Prophet Adam and then rebuilt by Prophets Ibrahim and Ismail
Eid al Adha = celebration after Hajj; We sacrifice a goat to remember when Prophet Ibrahim was ready to obey Allah and sacrifice his son.
Hajj teaches us that we belong to Allah only.
