There are two more chapters to complete our last Unit for the marking period.
Please continue to keep in touch with me for any questions/ concerns during our transition to distant learning. I am giving you two weeks to complete this chapter as it’s divided into three lessons.

Unit E: Prayer is Light
Chapter 3- Congregational Prayers in Islam
Lesson 1
Salat-ul-Jama’ah ( the daily congregational
Student Objectives :
*Distinguish between obligatory and recommended prayer.
*Understand the importance of Salat ul Jamaah and other congregational prayers
*Know the following vocabulary: Salat ul Jam’ah, Ma’moon, Ma’moomah, Salat-ul-Jumu’ah, Salat ul Eid, Salat ul Masbooq.
*Know how to prayer congregational prayer.
*Learn and understand the Hadeeth of the Prophet, peace, and blessing be upon him where he mentions the superiority of the congregational prayer over the individual prayer.
Lesson 2
Salat-ul-Jumu’ah ( The Friday Prayer)
Student Objectives :
Learn the benefits of Salat ul Jumu’ah
Learn the proper manners one should demonstrate during Salat ul Jumu’ah
Know the following terms: Khutbah, Khutbah ul Jumu’ah, Khateeb, Ghusl
Know the event behind the revelation of surah ul Jumaah ( verses 9-11)
Know the dangers of a Muslim man missing Jumu’ah prayer and specifically 3 in a row.
Lesson 3
Eid Prayers
Student Objectives:
* Learn the benefits of Salat ul Eid
* Learn the proper manners one should demonstrate during Salat ul Eid
* Know the following vocabulary terms: Eid, Eid ul Fitr, Salat ul Eid, Zakat ul Fitr
Complete all 15 questions and submit them to me. Remember, you have two weeks to complete them.
